Twitter: The Founded (Jack Dorsey)

Twitter: The Founded

The Origins:

Twitter is a Californian company situated in San Francisco. The product, Twitter, was a product of the pod-casting company Odeo. After several years in brainstorming, Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams, Biz Stone and Noah Glass, are known as the founders of Twitter. The company launched the Twitter site on March 21st 2006, and over the following years, the site slowly started to grow in the amount of user that have signed on to Twitter.

The Management:

Currently, Dick Costolo is the CEO of Twitter, who had replaced Evan Williams, when he had replaced Jack Dorsey. The Twitter product was the brainchild of Jack Dorsey (primarily), who had been studying computer programming at Bishop DuBourg High School. He had created dispatch software that, to this day, is still being used by taxicab companies. Regarding the other founders, Evan Williams is known for being a freelance computer writer, Biz Stone begun his career as an artist, and (the former) Noah Glass had worked as a software developer.

The Solutions it Provided:

Twitter allows the user to receive instant self-gratification via the tweets the user sends to the internet. In addition, it is also a fast way to fame (or in most cases, infamy) through the viral videos, pictures and tweets sent.

The Problems it Caused:

All social media sites cause controversy to some extent, through racist arguments to bullying, etc. Twitter is not different. One such infamous moment of controversy is when Barack Obama's thoughts of Kanye West interrupting Taylor Swift at the MTV Video Music Awards ("He's a Jackass"), was posted on Twitter by ABC News.

How company started

Snap chat was started by Brown and Spiegel as a project for one of spiegel's classes at stanford University where spiegel was a product design major. beginning under the name "picaboo,"the two later brought murphy into the project to code the application. when spiegel floated the idea in april 2011 in front  of the product design class for his final project, classmates balked at the idea of the impermanent photos. snap chat first launched in july 2011 under the name picboo in spiegel's father's living room, though the application was later renamed and relaunched under the snap chat.
